Q1. What happens if I've forgotten my User ID?

Q3. How do I choose a strong password?

Your password is your private entry key into your account. We enforce a password policy in accordance to the guidelines set by Monetary Authority of Singapore. Here are some requirements to ensure the security of your password:

1. Password must be between 6 to 10 alphanumeric characters

2. Password and ID should not be the same

3. Password is case sensitive. Use both capital and small alphabets

4. Password should not contain any spaces

5. Password should not be recycled frequently

6. Password should be changed periodically

7. Password should always be kept confidential

Examples of valid passwords: J0hnTa9, Angi5e


Q4. What is Phishing?

Phishing is an illegal attempt by a bogus/fake organisation to obtain your confidential information, such as user IDs, passwords, financial details etc. The information acquired by such means may be used for illegal purposes.


Q5. How can I protect myself from "Phishing"?

Some of the precautions that you can follow are as follows:

• Do not click on any link(s) in any suspicious email

• Always enter the full URL (Website address) in the web browser

• Never reveal your "password" to anyone. Staff of CGSI will never ask you for your password over phone or email

• Never send your financial information via email

• When you receive a phone call from CGSI, always confirm the identity of the caller. If in doubt, please contact us at 6210 8882, (if overseas, please call +65 6210 8882) from Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 6:00pm for clarification.

To comply with SGX Futures Trading Rule and Practice Note 2.6.3 (1)(d) on Error Prevention Alert, while your trading platform may allow you to disable certain alert settings for quicker trading. You are required to enable these settings for added protection while trading. For more information, please call us at +65 6210 8882 or refer tohttps://rulebook.sgx.com/rulebook/futures-trading-rules

Your trading platform may allow you to disable the session timeout function. This session timeout is incorporated as safety measure. You are required to enable these settings for added protection.

Q6. How do I lodge a dispute with regards to my trades?

Clients can lodge their dispute by sending an email tosg.cfddealing@cgsi.com or call +65 6210 8882 during operational hours.

Our operational hours are Mondays to Fridays, between 8.30am and 6.00pm.


Q7. How do I lodge a complaint or provide feedback?

If you wish to file a complaint about our services or the quality of our products, please contact our Client Services Department at 1800 538 9889, Mondays to Fridays (between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm), or email us atclientservices.sg@cgsi.com. Alternatively, you may write to:

If you feel that we have not provided a satisfactory resolution to your complaint, after giving us the opportunity to investigate and resolve it, you may lodge a written complaint to the Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (“FIDReC”). Q8. What are some of the security measures for safeguarding Internet Trading access?

You are advised to follow the below security best practices for safeguarding your internet trading access. However, please kindly note that this list is not exhaustive and is always evolving:

  • Passwords should not be based on user ID, personal telephone number, birthday or other personal information.
  • The same Password should not be used for different websites, applications or services, particularly when they relate to different entities.
  • Passwords must be memorized and should not be recorded anywhere.
  • Do not to save your User ID or Password by using the “Auto Complete” function of your browser. This function stores and lists possible matches from entries that you have typed previously.
  • Before entering your User ID and Password, you should always ensure that the internet trading website that you are visiting belongs to CGS International Securities Singapore Pte. Ltd. and the website address changes from http:// to https:// and a security icon that looks like a lock or key appears when authentication and encryption is expected. This can be verified by the URL displayed in your browser as well as the Securities’ name in its digital certificate. This precaution will ensure that you are not revealing your CGS International Securities Singapore Pte. Ltd. Internet Trading user ID and Password to a website other than us.
  • You must frequently check your trading accounts, transactions etc., and should immediately report any discrepancy.
  • Log off each online Internet Trading session and turn of the computer when not in use, even if it is for a short while. This will prevent any transactions from being performed without your authorization.
  • Do not disclose personal, financial or credit card information on little-known or suspect websites.
  • Do not use a computer or device which cannot be trusted.
  • Do not use public or internet café computers to access online banking or perform financial transactions.
  • You should consider installing Firewall, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware software in your personal computers, particularly when it is linked via broadband connections or cable modems. Update the anti-virus and firewall products with security patches or newer versions on a regular basis.
  • Do not install software or run programs of unknown origin.
  • You should consider removing file and printer sharing in your PC, especially if you have Internet access via cable modems, broadband connections or similar set-ups.
  • You should make regular backup of critical data.
  • Delete junk or chain emails. Do not open email attachments from strangers.
  • You should consider the use of encryption technology to protect highly sensitive or confidential information.
  • You should clear browser cache after the online session.
